District 1 WISTCA Rep
Matt has been teaching in Chetek, WI since the 1998-99 school year. He currently teaches 8th grade Earth Science and Physical Education.
He has been coaching track and field in the Chetek now Chetek-Weyerhaeuser district (we consolidated with the Weyerhaeuser school district during the 2010-11 school year) since 2001. Matt started as the assistant boys coach and became the head boys coach in 2008. He became the head coach of both boys and girls in 2012. Today, he primarily works with sprints, hurdles and relays.
Matt is thankful to work with WISTCA and promote the concerns and viewpoints of District 1 coaches.
District 2 WISTCA Rep
Chrisie has been a high school physical and health education teacher for Colby since 2002, also taking on a few middle school classes. She started her track coaching career in the middle school program and then took on the head boys and girls coach role in 2004. Currently, she works with the high jump, hurdles, sprints and pole vault. Chrisie is also the assistant middle school volleyball coach.
Chrisie, and her husband Kevin, love to spend their free time enjoying the great outdoors. Their children have paws; two beagles, Maya and Toby. Kevin and his family, have a house in the mountains of western Wyoming, not too far from Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. They spend as much time there as they can, with their favorite hobby being back country snowmobile riding. They both like to hunt and ride Harley; traveling into Canada and the western mountains on them. Chrisie loves taking hers for a long day drive exploring parts Wisconsin when she's not with her dogs or gardening.
District 3 WISTCA Rep
Nadine Rovang has been involved with track and field most of her life. Since 2003, she’s been the head boys/girls track and field coach at Eleva Strum High School where she coaches the sprints, relays and horizontal jumpers. In 2019, she was recognized by the WIAA for 30 years of service as the head high jump official at the state meet. In addition to track, Nadine also is the speed/agility coach for the ES high school football team, clerks the state cross country meet and is a team host for the boys state basketball tournament.
Nadine graduated from Hayward High school, CVTC and Concordia University, lives in Altoona and works for CVTC in Eau Claire.
District 4 WISTCA Rep
Jon Schwantz has been a Physical Education/Health Education teacher at the School District of Omro since 1989. He coached Cross Country from 1990 - 1994, Wrestling for 30 years, 26 of those years at Omro, and has been the Head Boys and Girls Track and Field Coach since 1989.
Jon enjoys spending time with wife Annette and his three beautiful daughters when he is not teaching or coaching. He also enjoys traveling the Boundary Waters every summer, walking in State Parks and spending time at his “get away” cabin in the north woods of Michigan.
Jon’s high school wrestling coach inspired him to pursue a career in the teaching /coaching profession.
District 5 WISTCA Rep
Pat Reichling started coaching straight out of high school. He began coaching football at Madison Edgewood in 2003. When he returned home to Darlington in 2005 he began coaching football and track. He had the privilege to learn under many wonderful coaches over the years.
When Todd Bastian decided to step back from head coaching in 2016, Pat was hired to take the job of head coach. With the support of his assistants he was able to take over the program.
Pat is a native of Darlington and has many family and friends throughout the area. He enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with his niece and nephews. He tries to travel whenever possible and hopes to continue helping to grow the sport of track and field.
District 6 WISTCA Rep
Sean Currie started coaching MS track in Cambridge back in 2010 and became head coach of the HS team in 2012. He also coaches Cross Country with Matt Polzin for Deerfield/Cambridge HS co-op team since 2010.
Sean enjoys spending time with his wife Susie and watching their two children, Sydney and Spencer, run XC and track in college at UW- LaCrosse and UW-Milwaukee. He works for McKinstry in Madison and enjoys watching all sports, biking, hiking and vacationing with family.
District 7 WISTCA Rep
Jerome Missiaen started coaching Track and Field at Badger HS, Lake Geneva in 1996 by helping out with the girls distance coach. Becoming an assistant coach coaching distance and high jump the next 3 years. In fall of 1999 Jerome started a new teaching job at Waterford HS and was an assistant coach for 1 year as Hurdle, High Jump, and Pole Vault coach. With one more job move in the fall of 2001 he became an assistant coach for Franklin HS boys as Distance, High Jump and Pole Vault coach. Then the next 6 out of 7 years he was the head Boys coach, coaching the Sprints, Jumps, and Hurdles mainly. With a growing family, Jerome resigned his head coaching position the next 2 years becoming an assistant. And then the two years after that he became a very part-time assistant. In spring of 2014, Jerome had a chance to coach his own child as a Freshman at Muskego HS. as an assistant, coaching Sprints and Hurdles. He currently continues to coach at Muskego HS. And just for fun, Jerome has volunteered to help coach the local middle school teams the past 4 years when time allowed. Jerome has also coached Cross Country as an assistant and as a head coach 17 of the past 21 years.
Kari Krakow has coached Track and Cross Country since 2006 at Portage High School. Kari is the WISTCA Secretary, Women4Women leader and the High Jump Chair for the Senior Spotlight meet.
She works at CESA 5 as a Lead Infinite Campus Trainer for Wisconsin. She and her husband Chris are the proud parents of Spike, their barrel cactus.
